Job Summary:

This entry level position has the primary function of providing support for all general ledger activities and applying principles of accounting to analyze financial data, prepare reconciliations, prepare and process journal entries for month-end close.

Duties and Responsibilities:     

  • Account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts. Identifying and researching variances.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, including supporting documentation.
  • Fixed Asset management and reporting.
  • Personal Property Tax filings and reporting.
  • Preparing various miscellaneous costing reports.
  • Monitor production and expense transactions and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Various routine system functions – closing jobs, journal postings, etc.
  • Assist with annual physical inventory process.
  • Familiarity with month-end closing process and in using Excel spreadsheets.

Education, Skills and Experience:

              Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Accounting experience with exposure in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Experience with general ledgers, AP, AR.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.

Physical Demands:

  1. Use of computer keyboard and mouse, and multi-line phone.

Work Environment:

  1. Primarily shared office environment.
  2. May be required to enter the machine shop environment at times throughout the work day; this environment may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc.
  3. Possible skin and inhaled contact with various sealants, paints, adhesives, and other chemicals may occur.
  4. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required. 
  5. Safety training is required and provided by the Company in accordance with applicable law, industry standards, and Company policy.
